1. What this covers
These Terms of Service ("Terms") cover your use of Shear, a random matching and chat app ("the Service"). Shear ("we", "us") provides the Service.
2. Who can use Shear
You must be 18 or older. Use your own info. Don't impersonate anyone or create a fake account.
3. Your account
You sign up with Google. You're responsible for your account and you can't transfer it. We may use a device identifier to stop abuse. After you delete your account, the same device may be blocked from signing up again for 7 days.
4. What you can't do
Don't:
1. Fake a profile (photo, age, gender, and similar)
2. Harass, threaten, or sexually bother other people
3. Contact minors or pretend to be under 18
4. Send ads, spam, or scam content
5. Break the law or these Terms
5. Reports and bans
We can limit, suspend, or delete accounts that break these Terms, based on reports or our own review. You can report someone at any time. Reporting also stops you from matching with them again.
6. Changes and downtime
We may change or pause all or part of the Service. We'll give notice when we reasonably can.
7. Limits of liability
We're not responsible for what happens between users, including chats or in-person meetups. Keep personal info private. If you meet offline, use a public place and look after yourself. We're not liable for outages caused by things outside our control, like network failures or natural disasters.
8. Deleting your account
You can delete your account in Settings at any time. We'll delete your login, profile, profile photos, and matching queue. Chat history, chat photos, and reports may stay for a while for safety and operations. The other person will see the chat as ended. The same device may be blocked from signing up again for 7 days.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We'll let you know in the app.
